EXPERIENCE
Mr. Lanci
joined Earth Dynamics in the fall of 2007 as a staff geophysicist. His primary
duties include data acquisition and reduction for geophysical exploration
projects and data reduction and analysis for several ongoing vibration
monitoring projects. Specific recent projects include over 24,000 lineal feet
of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) exploration to detect buried utilities at
Waterfront Park in Portland, OR, multi-electrode resistivity profiling to help
determine subsurface geology at the Oregon School of Art and Craft in Portland,
OR, vibration monitoring during quarry blasting, and vibration monitoring during
pipe bursting and construction activities for Clean Water Services in Washington
County, OR.
Upon
receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysical Engineering from the
Colorado School of Mines (CSM), Mr. Lanci began work with Zonge Geosciences,
Inc. as a field geophysicist. While at Zonge, Dustin conducted a wide range of
engineering and environmental geophysics projects including over 15,000 lineal
feet of two-dimensional electrical resistivity profiling along US-412 near
Woodward, OK to locate voids; EM and Magnetometer surveys in Denver, CO to
locate buried underground storage tanks; seismic refraction and Refraction
Microtremor (ReMi) surveys to locate depth to bedrock and rippability at Winter
Park Ski Resort, CO; and Cross-hole Seismic tests at Red Rock Power Plant near
Stillwater, OK to determine shear-wave velocities.
While a
student at the CSM, Mr. Lanci worked as a geophysical technician for Olson
Engineering, Inc. At Olson Engineering, Mr. Lanci gained experience using
Cross-hole Sonic Logging (CSL) and Sonic Echo/Impulse Response to determine
depth and structural integrity of bridge and building piers and Ground
Penetrating Radar (GPR) to locate embedded features, such as rebar and
post-tension cables, within concrete slabs.
